Job Overview
The Lead Residential Technician will play a critical role in delivering high-end home automation, AV, and networking solutions. This role is ideal for a skilled technician with a solid foundation in installation and programming, who is ready to take the next step into a leadership role. You’ll serve as the right-hand to the VP, collaborate with the existing lead technician, and help drive excellence in field operations.
This position is hands-on and client-facing, requiring technical proficiency, leadership ability, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead onsite installations of residential AV, networking, and automation systems, ensuring projects meet high standards of quality and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the current lead technician and support junior team members by delegating tasks and providing mentorship.
- Install and configure Control4 systems (required), and work with Lutron and Ubiquiti gear (preferred).
- Coordinate with project management and operations staff to ensure timely execution of project milestones.
- Serve as a secondary point of contact for clients during installations, maintaining professionalism and clarity in communication.
- Travel occasionally (up to 8–10 weeks per year) for out-of-town projects, fully supported by the company.
- Uphold safety, efficiency, and documentation standards at all times.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of field experience in AV integration, home automation, or a related field.
- Control4 certification or strong hands-on programming experience with Control4 systems
- Experience with Lutron and/or Ubiquiti preferred.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and residential construction environments.
- Prior leadership experience is not required but must demonstrate readiness to lead others and manage job sites.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Positive attitude, sense of humor, and genuine desire to contribute to a close-knit team.
- Ability to travel up to 10 weeks per year for projects (with full travel expenses covered).
- Physically able to lift up to 80 lbs and perform standard installation tasks.

Compensation
$50,000 – $67,000, depending on experience and technical capabilities. Salary-based (not hourly), ensuring income stability regardless of seasonal fluctuations.
