Job Overview

We’re hiring a Business Development Representative to focus exclusively on growing the company’s high-end residential AV and smart home sales. You’ll manage inbound leads, create new opportunities, and serve as a trusted advisor to homeowners, designers, and builders.

This role blends client-facing sales with behind-the-scenes collaboration. It's an excellent fit for someone who takes initiative, builds relationships with ease, and is ready to grow within a close-knit and values-driven team.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new business through outreach, referrals, networking, and local relationship-building.
  • Qualify leads and manage the early stages of the residential sales cycle.
  • Conduct initial consultations to understand client needs and align them with tailored AV/home automation solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal design, sales, and installation teams to ensure seamless project handoff and client satisfaction.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, home shows, and industry events to build awareness and trust.
  • Keep accurate records of leads, contacts, and communications in the CRM (D-Tools).
  • Regularly report activity and pipeline status to the Sales Team Manager.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in residential AV, smart home tech, luxury products, or home services.
  • Naturally relationship-driven with strong interpersonal and consultative sales skills.
  • Confident yet humble—eager to learn, open to feedback, and focused on doing what’s best for the team.
  • Comfortable working independently and in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with D-Tools or proposal software is a plus.
  • Local to Glens Falls/Saratoga or open to relocation.

Compensation

  • $40,000-$50,000 base depending on experience + commission
  • Draw available during ramp up period
