Job Overview
The Lead Technician will oversee high-end residential AV installations, providing leadership and mentorship to junior team members. The role includes troubleshooting, installing advanced systems, and occasional travel to assist other regions or international projects.
Responsibilities
- Complete new project installations and day-to-day field service independently or as part of a team
- Troubleshoot and install audio, video, and IP networking systems (Netgear, Meraki, Ruckus)
- Perform basic programming for control systems (e.g., Savant, Control4) and lighting (Lutron, Vantage)
- Coordinate with the Programming & IT (PIT) and Project Management (PM) teams.
- Maintain documentation and adhere to industry standards
- Travel occasionally for up to a week at a time, with a per diem of $72/day and 10% pay increase for out-of-town projects
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in residential AV installations
- Proficiency in essential network troubleshooting and industry best practices
- Strong client-facing communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior technicians
- Willingness to travel domestically or internationally (passport preferred)

Development Milestones
- First 30 Days: Complete onboarding, training, and shadowing with senior staff.
- 60-90 Days: Demonstrate installation and service proficiency under supervision.
- 180 Days: Begin advanced CEDIA CIT/IST training; take on leadership roles in projects.
- 1 Year: Complete CEDIA CIT/IST certification and demonstrate comprehensive technical proficiency.

Compensation
Hourly Rate $33-40 Based on Experience + 10% pay increase for travel
