Position Overview

The AV Installation Technician will assist with the installation, service, and support of residential and light commercial technology systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, learning new technologies, and taking ownership of their work.

The ideal candidate has some experience in low-voltage systems, construction, networking, electrical work, AV integration, or a related field, but just as importantly possesses the aptitude and desire to continue learning.

Success in this role requires a self-starter mentality, strong problem-solving skills, and the willingness to jump in wherever needed to support the team and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Install and service audio/video, networking, surveillance, security, and smart home systems
  • Pull, route, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling
  • Assist with system setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Support installations involving lighting control, automation, networking, and control systems
  • Work alongside senior technicians to learn programming and commissioning processes
  • Read and interpret project documentation and installation plans
  • Maintain organized job sites, vehicles, and equipment
  • Communicate professionally with clients and team members
  • Assist with project completion and punch-list items
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and certification opportunities
  • Travel to project sites as required throughout the region

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Experience

  • Residential AV installation
  • Low-voltage cabling
  • Networking and Wi-Fi systems
  • Electrical or construction experience
  • Security or surveillance systems
  • Smart home technologies
  • IT, computer, or technology-related education or experience
  • Experience with platforms such as Crestron, Lutron, URC, Control4, or similar technologies

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials

  • Ability to perform manual labor including cable pulling, equipment installation, and occasional outdoor work

Travel

Less than 20% travel. Occasional overnight travel may be required for projects located outside the immediate service area.

Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
