Operations Manager
Company Overview
We are partnering with a respected custom AV integrator based just north of Albany in Glens Falls, NY, with decades of experience serving commercial and residential clients throughout the Capital Region. Commercial integration is the core of the business, with deep roots in higher education, K-12, and public sector work, and the company is growing into new construction through relationships with architects, engineers, and general contractors.
The company runs on EOS, with a "right people, right seat" philosophy that shapes how they hire and how they develop the people already on the team. Their values guide every decision and interaction:
- Value Relationships: Trust and connection are the foundation of the business.
- Team Player: Success comes from supporting one another and working toward shared goals.
- Passion for Success: A drive for excellence, continuous improvement, and thoughtful execution.
- Humble Confidence: A grounded, self-aware approach that leads with integrity.
Why Join Us?
- A Seat on the Management Team — This is a leadership role, not a coordinator seat. You'll be a member of the company's management team with real authority over how work gets done.
- Build the Foundation — You'll create and refine the SOPs and KPIs that carry this operation through its next stage of growth.
- Profit Sharing — Base salary plus participation in the company profit share, so operational wins show up in your compensation.
- Strong Support Around You — A dedicated purchasing and inventory resource reads proposals, manages ordering, and handles invoicing, which frees you to focus on running the operation.
- Run on EOS — Clear accountability, defined seats, and a leadership team that operates on a shared framework.
- A Modern, AI-Forward Operation — D-Tools as the system of record, QuickBooks Online for accounting, and active use of Claude across the business.
Job Overview
We are seeking an Operations Manager to own how work flows through the business, from the moment a signed project lands through final invoicing. This role manages the install team, owns scheduling and dispatch, and serves as a member of the company's overall management team.
The strongest candidate for this seat comes from a project management background and thinks operationally rather than project by project. You'll be responsible for the health of the entire operation: crew capacity and burnout, realistic project timelines, job site readiness, and the accountability structures that let a growing team know what's expected of them. Looking at a project ahead of time, knowing which questions to ask, and getting answers from the sales team before the crew mobilizes is central to how this role creates value.
This is an on-site role in Glens Falls with regular job site presence. The person who thrives here is a systems thinker who is equally comfortable building a KPI framework in the office and walking a project in advance to plan the work.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Own scheduling, dispatch, and service coordination across all active projects.
- Manage project timelines and technician deployment across the install team.
- Ensure projects are completed fully, on time, and invoiced to a zero balance.
- Review project documentation and drawings in advance, identify gaps, and get answers from the sales team before work begins.
- Maintain a regular job site presence, walking projects ahead of time to plan and prepare the work.
- Build the D-Tools service orders and task details the field team depends on.
Process and Accountability
- Create standard operating procedures, and refine existing ones, to drive efficiency across the organization.
- Establish KPIs across technicians and field teams so expectations are clear at every level.
- Balance project commitments against real crew capacity to protect timelines and keep promises to clients realistic.
- Use D-Tools as the primary platform for project tracking and documentation.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead the install team day to day, and chart a development path for each person on it.
- Manage relationships with remote programmers and outside technical resources.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and team structure as the company scales.
Inventory and Job Site Readiness
- Coordinate parts and equipment staging for upcoming jobs, phasing orders to match project timelines.
- Partner with the purchasing and inventory resource on ordering priorities and project phasing.
- Confirm job site readiness before crews mobilize.
