Job Overview
The Residential AV Technician will install, support, and troubleshoot residential AV, automation, and networking systems across a variety of custom home environments. This role is ideal for a technician who already has hands-on experience in AV or low-voltage systems and is ready to take the next step in their career. The right candidate will be able to own portions of a project independently, troubleshoot issues in the field, and proactively solve problems while working alongside a collaborative team. Responsibilities
- Install residential AV, automation, low-voltage, and networking systems
- Complete full-room or section-level installations with minimal supervision
- Troubleshoot and resolve field issues independently
- Assist with system setup and commissioning
- Read and interpret project documentation, plans, and legends
- Maintain organized, clean, and professional job sites
- Identify issues before they become larger problems
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to a strong team environment
- Represent the company professionally in clients’ homes and on job sites
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in custom integration, residential AV, low-voltage, or a related field preferred
- Hands-on experience with AV or integrated technology systems required
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Understanding of system flow, signal path, and residential technology environments
- Comfortable using hand tools and working in active project settings
- Experience with networking is a strong plus
- Ability to read plans and installation documentation is a plus
- Experience with rack building, commissioning, or mentoring junior technicians is a plus
- Strong work ethic, coachability, and willingness to learn
