Job Overview
The Warehouse/Purchasing Manager is a hands-on role that ensures smooth daily operations for both inventory and purchasing. This individual will lead efforts to maintain organization, accuracy, and readiness in the warehouse while also driving cost-effective and timely procurement of products. It’s a dynamic position that requires attention to detail, initiative, and strong communication with internal teams and vendors.
Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Receive shipments and verify contents against packing lists.
- Notify the Security team of new arrivals with photos and associated project names.
- Enter received POs into internal software (Residential & Commercial) and print/stage labels.
- Prepare outbound shipments, especially RMAs.
- Track and manage RMAs in iPoint; follow up on replacements, credits, and shipping.
- Stage upcoming project materials in advance per the schedule.
- Manage and assist with technician check-in/check-out sheets.
- Label and return inventory to staging or stock as needed.
- Pull items for truck stock; deliver or pick up products and checks when necessary.
- Maintain inventory of office, kitchen, and cleaning supplies.
- Restock paper goods, soap, and kitchen items.
- Clean common areas, manage espresso machine upkeep, and remove trash as needed.
- Monitor vehicle needs and perform routine maintenance checklists.
- Take vehicles for service as required.
- Recycle scrap wire/metal and spray for pests/weeds as needed.
- Replace air filters for HVAC units.
Purchasing
- Allocate in-stock inventory to upcoming jobs.
- Source pricing and availability across vendors, considering delivery speed and cost.
- Generate and submit POs for approval.
- Collaborate with the Project Coordinator for vendor-specific purchases.
- Finalize orders and keep iPoint updated with status, tracking, backorders, and notes.
- Notify Production, Service, or Security/Commercial teams when product arrives.
Qualifications
- Experience in warehouse or purchasing management (AV or tech integration preferred).
- Familiarity with tools like iPoint or similar ERP/inventory systems is a plus.
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle logistics, inventory, and purchasing tasks.
- Physically able to lift up to 80 lbs and perform regular warehouse duties.
- Effective communicator with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
