Job Overview

We are seeking a Level 3 AV Technician to serve as a lead field technician on residential and light commercial integration projects. This individual will mentor junior techs, lead installations, and ensure projects meet high-quality standards and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in AV, networking, lighting control, and automation systems, and the leadership ability to help grow and guide a small but mighty team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation of residential and commercial AV systems, including racks, displays, projectors, speakers, and smart home technology.
  • Configure and program control systems such as Control4, Elan, Lutron, and related technologies.
  • Commission systems, perform final quality checks, and participate in client walkthroughs.
  • Mentor and guide junior technicians; serve as a knowledge resource on best practices and system troubleshooting.
  • Maintain clear communication regarding project updates, challenges, and timelines.
  • Document daily site progress and maintain updated records.
  • Ensure job sites are clean, organized, and ready for client turnover.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and provide on-site client support as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years in AV installation, smart home integration, or related fields.
  • Strong proficiency with Control4 systems (Associate Installer or Programmer certification preferred).
  • Experience with Lutron Lighting (Caseta, RA2, RA3) and HomeWorks preferred.
  • Ability to build and lace AV racks, terminate and test CatX and fiber optic cabling.
  • Proficient in network setup and configuration (Araknis preferred).
  • Installation and configuration of video over IP solutions (Just Add Power, AVPro, MoIP).
  • Surveillance system setup and integration experience.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Control4 PCNA, Level II Certification
  • Lutron Lighting and Shade Certifications
  • Elan Automation Programmer experience
  • Security System installation and integration experience

Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid Georgia driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Physically able to climb ladders, work in crawl spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be comfortable traveling overnight up to 10% of the time.

Compensation

  • Base Pay: $28.00–$35.00/hour (Depending on skills and certifications)
  • Additional Earning Opportunities:
